Founded in 2023, Legends Are Made brings dancers and performers from across South Africa together in Boksburg. From a first freestyle routine to a commanding ballroom partnership, every performance has a place in our story.
Created by professional dancers Duerell de Pontes and Chanel Jacobs, this is a celebration of technique, individuality and the courage to take the stage.

A ten-time South African Ballroom and Latin American champion, IDTA Fellow, Examiner, Adjudicator and founder of Duerell’s School of Music, Drama and Dance. Duerell has represented South Africa in England and France.
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Owner of Ultimate Empire Dance Studio, SADTA Licentiate, trainer and adjudicator. Chanel’s experience includes adjudicating at the World Freestyle Championships in London.
